Growing Together: Earth Day in Action at First State

At First State, our commitment to community runs deeper than banking. This Earth Day, our branches came together to take part in volunteer efforts that supported the neighborhoods we serve—demonstrating that when we invest in community, we all grow together.

Meeting Local Needs

Each of our branches identified a unique need in their local area and took action to meet it. In one community, team members rolled up their sleeves to revitalize a public garden—clearing weeds,  and prepping the space for a new season of growth. Another branch hit the trails, cleaning up a local walking path by removing litter, trimming back overgrowth, and ensuring the area was welcoming and safe for all to enjoy. In a different town, staff members brought out the cleaning supplies and gave their community center a much-needed deep clean, helping to create a brighter, healthier space for neighbors to gather.

These examples are just a glimpse into the meaningful work carried out across our locations. Each act of service, no matter the size, was rooted in a shared desire to uplift the communities we proudly serve.

Local Roots, Growing Together

Through our Local Roots, Growing Together campaign, we celebrate the power of investing in community-driven initiatives. Earth Day reminded us that when we come together to meet local needs, we’re not just cleaning up spaces—we’re strengthening the bonds that hold our communities together.

Whether it’s restoring a trail or brightening a neighborhood center, our roots run deep. And when we nurture those roots, we grow—together.
