First State Aids in Flood Relief

First State knew they wanted to help the victims of the March 2019 flood in any way they could.  First State encouraged employees and customers to bring in flood relief supplies to help “stuff the trailer”.  The trailer then delivered the supplies to the communities of Yutan, Waterloo and Valley to distribute to those who needed it.  Supplies donated ranged from brooms and buckets to energy bars and water.  A group of middle school youth from a local church made cards with inspirational messages that were handed out with the supplies.

On top of the donated supplies, First State encouraged its employees to make a monetary donation towards flood relief efforts as well.  The bank matched up to $2500 of employee donations.  As a team, close to $6,000 was raised in monetary donations.  First State continues to work with our branches in affected communities to see how our donation funds can best be used.

First State continues to search for ways to be assistance to flood victims and is working on organizing a volunteer day within the bank for employees to help.

Together, we can help rebuild our communities.  #NebraskaStrong #FirstStateStrong
