Paws and Purpose: Yutan Pet Adoption Event
At First State, we’re committed to bringing families and communities together. In collaboration with Saunders County Lost Pets (SCLP), we hosted 3 cats and 6 dogs in our Yutan branch on Friday, June 20th for our Pet Adoption Event. Through this collaboration, we were able to unite 2 cats and 3 dogs with loving families in Yutan and other surrounding communities. First State paid the adoption fees for all -- of the animals adopted during the event.
In addition to adoptions, community members came together with donations for SCLP. From cleaning supplies to food, members of the community and staff from First State provided the shelter with supplies and donations throughout the week to help them continue the important work they do every day. With -- total adoptions and zero fees for families, we proudly support the SCLP as they provide homes and resources for lost and abandoned pets.
About Saunders County Lost Pets (SCLP)
SCLP was founded in 2007 by Debora Wilcox after she lost both of her labrador retrievers in 2006. After realizing that the system for finding lost pets in Saunders County was flawed, she founded SCLP to reunite lost pets with their owners or provide adoption services for animals without families. SCLP operates out of downtown Wahoo, Nebraska and has grown to include many pet related activities, including boarding, grooming, and dog daycare. SCLP has helped place over 4,000 cats and dogs into loving homes, including the ones adopted in Yutan!
